“Having undertaken an initial series of four sessions with Hope rising and Andy Hole I can really recommend the experience.
It was very reassuring to sit in a counselling environment with a fully trained NHS/CBT counsellor.
I found the time helpful to enable me to process events in life that were both difficult and deep. The value of time spent with Andy is having ongoing tools to aid self-awareness, mindfulness and give a perspective on past events that will surely help in the present and future.
With so many pop-up counsellors setting up shop online, it is deeply reassuring to sit with a professionally trained very experienced person whom you can trust and benefit from.
As a care practitioner myself I would certainly recommend hope rising and Andy Hole to others whom I support.

“Recommended to Andy, by some lovely friends, who had already seen the benefits of CBT by Andy with their grandson and other friends.
I met Andy virtually on a video platform in my own home, which was convenient and less nerve-racking. Over a few weeks he was able to listen, assess and equip me with the tools I needed to recognise triggers and put processes in place to protect my boundaries and stop me free fall into stress and anxiety.
This continues to help me, if over time old habits start creeping back, I’m able to recognise and process these quickly giving me much more confidence moving forward.Andy is brilliant, kind and non-judgemental and I am extremely happy to recommend him and the therapy he provides.

“How I found the experience of engaging in therapy
Although nervous at the thought of engaging in therapy my immediate experience of meeting Andy was very positive.
Andy had been recommended to me by a friend and my initial contact with him was via a face-to-face informal chat which then led to a more formal enquiry phone consultation a month later.I find Andy very approachable and my apprehension about chatting through any issues with him were very quickly allayed. I find him to be a very good listener, completely non-judgemental and always able to bring wise questions and comments into the situation – allowing me the space and the time to assess, evaluate and formulate my own thinking and way forward. He allows me to be me and walk my own journey of discovery. The sessions I have had with Andy have all been via zoom, I have found these particularly helpful, since being in my own home enables me to feel particularly at ease.
How the therapy helped me at the time
At the time of my first session with Andy I had been through several life changing issues in a short space of time. This left me feeling completely adrift and unable to think clearly or process the way forward. I felt very confused and afraid for the future.
Andy’s ability to listen and ask the right questions at the right time allowed me the space and time to see things more clearly and begin to see a way forward.
He enabled me to begin to ‘Hope’ again and see ‘the wood from the trees.’As a Christian I also appreciate Andy’s understanding of my values and beliefs and his willingness to recognise how important they are to me. His insights are so often just what I need to hear – sometimes it is just a word, or a sentence, all given at the right time. I am eternally grateful for these words. They come with care and are never directional – rather they are encouraging, hope building and restorative.
Benefits from the therapy

For me the ongoing benefits are immense. Through sessions with Andy, I have learnt new ways of approaching life’s difficulties when they arise. I am much more aware of my own weaknesses and how I respond to negative events which in turn helps me to respond to them in a less fearful, anxious way.
I have learnt how to recognise the signs of my own failings and begin not to beat myself up about them.
